Watched Oylmpic's badminton match yesterday. Seriously, I think I only watched less that 5 times in my whole life. But I just want to support Datuk Lee Chong Wei as a Malaysian. I was at a cafe eating 'Chee Cheong Fun' and watched the match with the rest of Malaysian regardless RACE, RELIGION or CULTURE.All of us have only one aim-: To support Lee Chong Wei ; to witness the historic moment when Malaysia win the first Olympic Gold medal.
Sadly, Lee Chong Wei did not win the gold medal.
But throughout that 79minutes of match, I have learnt some lessons. Lessons that I will carry as a Malaysian. A true Malaysian.
First, I learnt that our fellow Malaysians are actually very supportive rakyat. (even the kids). I was watching that match with a bunch of kids. They were like 'Yeahhh. Aiyaaaa.. OUT!!'.. Without realising, that match actually planted the root of loving and supporting our country no matter we win or not. The most important, we support/ encourage our fellow Malaysians that try to win / do something for US-- no matter whether he/she is a sportman, soldier, police, teacher and etc. The power of encouragement and support is huge.
Secondly, it's okay to lose. Attitude matter the most. Datuk Lee cried during the medal-giving ceremony. As a Malaysian, I felt emotional. I felt like you know, it's just 2 points away (21-19) and we were so close to victory. I wonder how Datuk Lee felt. But Datuk Lee won Malaysians' hearts and the world hearts' for trying his HARDEST. It's okay to lose when you gave in everything. Coz God will do the REST.
Thirdly, I am born in Malaysia for a reason. God planted me here.I know other country could provide a better prospect for most of us: in education, salary, living . Come to think of that, it's true.Other county can provide better. But we are here for a reason. Learn to love our country and people, folks. I am tired of listening to racist statement such as ' Na ge Mai Lai Ren' .Datuk Lee played for all the Malaysians not only the chinese in Malaysia. He carried the nationality, 'Malaysia'. How can someone support him but a racist? Every goverment in the world make mistakes. Do not bring the older generation's mistakes into our kids' generation. Be an agent of change. Make a change. Love Malaysia.
1st Peter 2: 13-17
Make the Master proud of you by being good citizens. Respect the authorities, whatever their level; they are God's emissaries for keeping order. It is God's will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think you're a danger to society. Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules.Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government. (The Message)
Thank You , Datuk Lee Chong Wei!
