Bible.

Came across this video on persecution. This man was persecuted because the military government in Laos thought that this man was a American spy . But he was spreading the Word of God which often confused for spreading Westernism or Americanism (still very much relevant today).
This is based on the the real story and this man will take any minutes he can to read the Bible in the prison. He was beaten, was pointed gun on his head for 10 over years. He stated this, ' I can stand being beaten, starved but I cannot live without the Word of God.'. He went on saying that he was afraid of forgetting the verses as years flies because of not reading the Bible.
And I was thinking to myself, ' How many times did I read my Bible today?' . This man that I mentioned LOVE the Word of God so much that he was beaten because he wanted to read the Bible. And I am ashamed to say that I put the Word of God aside because of what? Facebook? Breakfast? Sleep?
I think it is kind of true that we will never really learn to appreciate until it is taken away. But now I know that Bible is there and is free and I am not persecuted for reading it..I think I really need to learn to equip myself. To read BIBLE and LOVE the Word of God.
For someone like me who is soooo soooo lack of discipline, it's advisable to set time apart to truly understand the truth in Bible. It's not about you know, rules and laws ..but you know commitment sometimes needs effort too. And if I truly understand the love of God, I would be empowered to do the things He wants...to read the Word of God for my best interest. :)
I love the ending statement too, ' What would you do for a Bible?'...Come to think of it, many times we take things for granted. But it is never to late to realise this , aren't we? Let's start today. Let's be a Word-based Christian that applies the Word in our lives too! :)
'Take the Word of God with you as you go. Take the seeds of God's word and make them grow. '
