Saving Private Ryan QuotesIn Saving Private Ryan, eight men went to several parts of Normandy to find one man. His name is James Ryan. These eight men faced with various attacks from the enemies. They also faced some internal conflicts because they began losing trust for changing eight men's lives for one man.

James Ryan did survived. However, only one of those eight men survived in order to make sure James Ryan survived the war. Captain Miller, a captain or the leader of the eight men said this to James before breathing his last breath,

'James, earn this...earn it. '

James wept with disbelief upon hearing that.

One day old James Ryan went back to the memorial that was contributed the soldiers that served in World War II. He went standing in front of the tomb of a man, Captain Miller.

James Ryan said,

Saving Private Ryan Quotes
My family is with me today. They wanted to come with me. To be honest with you, I...I wasn't sure how I'd feel coming back here. Every day I think about what you said to me that day on the bridge. I tried to live my life the best that I could. I hope that was enough. I hope that, at least in your eyes, I've earned what all of you have done for me.

This movie reminds me on how Jesus is like these eight men sacrificed their lives for a stranger named Ryan, whom they never see before.
I was thinking to myself after watching the movie that will I at my old age say this to myself 'At least in God's eyes, I've earned what He had done for me.'

Saving Private Ryan is a fictional story. A story about the sacrifice of eight men for a man's life. But the story of Jesus is about a sacrifice of a man for you and me. One perfect sacrifice to save us all from the wrath and the judgement of God. Many times, we may take this for granted.....our salvation.

But let us reminded again that we were never good enough for good God to die for us. We never can earn salvation. In exchange for what our Jesus had done for us on Calvary, I hope that in God's eyes, you and I try to live the best we can for Him for what He had done for us.

For in 1st Timothy 1: 13 to 16, Paul wrote

Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignore and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out to me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Jesus Christ. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners- of whom I am worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience for an example for those who believe on him and receive eternal life.

And he continued to remind Timothy,
18...so that by following them you may fight a good fight , holding on to faith and good conscience.

I want to teach...

POSTED ON: 28 September 2013 @ 9:46 PM | 1 comments

I want to teach...

Not because it is the easiest job,
Not because I want to earn easy bucks,
Not because 'Those that cannot make it, they teach.'
Not because I can shout at students,
And feel powerful when they listen to me.

I want to teach...

Because I want to make differences in my students,
Emotionally and physically,
Because I want to tell them , 'You can do it!'
Because I want to believe that each one of them can be molded,
And gives hopes when things seems hopeless.

I want to teach...

Not because teaching is fun,
It is not because sometimes it can wear me down,
Emotionally and physically,
But because these children,
They are teaching me lessons too,
And believe that God is teaching me through them.

And because of all these,  I will continue to learn and teach.

Bible.

POSTED ON: 29 June 2013 @ 11:41 PM | 0 comments

Came across this video on persecution. This man was persecuted because the military government in Laos thought that this man was a American spy . But he was spreading the Word of God which often confused for spreading Westernism or Americanism (still very much relevant today).

This is based on the the real story and this man will take any minutes he can to read the Bible in the prison. He was beaten, was pointed gun on his head for 10 over years. He stated this, ' I can stand being beaten, starved but I cannot live without the Word of God.'. He went on saying that he was afraid of forgetting the verses as years flies because of not reading the Bible.

And I was thinking to myself, ' How many times did I read my Bible today?' . This man that I mentioned LOVE the Word of God so much that he was beaten because he wanted to read the Bible. And I am ashamed to say that I put the Word of God aside because of what? Facebook? Breakfast? Sleep?

I think it is kind of true that we will never really learn to appreciate until it is taken away. But now I know that Bible is there and is free and I am not persecuted for reading it..I think I really need to learn to equip myself. To read BIBLE and LOVE the Word of God.

For someone like me who is soooo soooo lack of discipline, it's advisable to set time apart to truly understand the truth in Bible. It's not about you know, rules and laws ..but you know commitment sometimes needs effort too. And if I truly understand the love of God, I would be empowered to do the things He wants...to read the Word of God for my best interest. :)

I love the ending statement too, ' What would you do for a Bible?'...Come to think of it, many times we take things for granted. But it is never to late to realise this , aren't we? Let's start today. Let's be a Word-based Christian that applies the Word in our lives too! :)

'Take the Word of God with you as you go.  Take the seeds of God's word and make them grow. '

A reason.

POSTED ON: 16 June 2013 @ 5:53 PM | 1 comments

I think in life, when we cannot stand someone or we were irritated by someone...naturally our human mind will lashes out all the negative thoughts about the person. For example, 'Why couldn't he/she be more mature? Things are simple isn't it? ; 'Why does he/she has to be so mean to me?' ; 'What makes he/her hates me or treat me like this?' ; ' Why did I do to deserve such a treatment?'; 'Why he/she has to act out like that?' ...and the list goes on and on.

It is true that it is harder to be a bigger person in this situation and it is easier to respond and lashes out anger to these people who really needs a spank on their face. But for there are so many reasons to not love/dislike/hate them, can we find at least a reason to LOVE them unconditionally? Just a reason will do...

'Just find a reason to love despite many reasons to not.'

I know it is really really really difficult to choose to see things from the other side but just because someone do not deserve to be loved but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be loved. Come to think of it, all of us do not deserve His Love. But that doesn't mean God don't want to love us.

In this world of chaos, in the world of cold-hearted people, in this world where true love seem impossible to exist ; Hold on to the reason why you love which is because..... God loves everyone. Shift your perspective to another side where understanding and actions are needed to melt the heart of the people and point them to who and where True Love is . Might be hard along the way, but as long as God is smiling and delighted because you are loving His people..it is worth it. Well, at least you are sowing to please the Spirit and from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (in ref Gal 6:8)

God is love. Therefore love. Without distinction, without calculation, without procrastination, love.  (Henry Drummond)

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil.  For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. (Psalm 37:8-9)

In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. The weather was too good. So I wanted to write in my journal. I was writing and writing and I realised how beautiful is writing especially to your love ones. For me, I write to God in my journal with black ink pen ( because I like cursive handwritings) and I read it again when I am bored or discouraged by circumstances around me. And because it was written to God, it was real and nothing was hideous.

So I was thinking about the whole concept of writing to God. Then I remembered the Bible, the only existing evidence of written Word from God. Then, I remembered watching ' The Day after Tomorrow', where this man tried to save Bible because he said 'This is the oldest book in the world and I want to save it.' I am not sure if he died at the end of the movie or what was his intention of saving the Bible but imagine when the whole world collapses, would you rather risk your life to save the Word of God or you would just save your life so that you can live?

It amazes me how the Word of God still real and relevant to these days. It is God-breathed and it speaks to us. I mean it was written thousand of years before and it is still relevant till today. WOW! Marvellous isn't it? I guess sins never change (Maybe the form of sin changes due to the access of technology and materials we have now). But what happened in the past is still pretty much relevant today. God knows and that is why He provides us Bible to speak to us and guide us .And for those unsung heroes and the authors of the Books that write, copy and preserve the Bible ,I am just amazed by their dedication to serve and write.

Writing is a gift. And gifts are supposed to be used for God; for goodness and His glory. If you can write, write to God ; tell Him how is your days, praise Him..etc. If you can write, write to encourage one another. If you can write, write to influence people around you or people who read your writings. Who knows what they can take away from your writings?? Use your gift well. :)

Truly, Malaysian.

POSTED ON: 09 May 2013 @ 12:23 AM | 0 comments

Someone posted about being Malaysian.

My friend: She is not Malaysian meh?
Me : You can be a Malaysian without truly knowing the real meaning of being a Malaysian.

Being a Malaysian takes so much more than what you think it is. It is about loving one another regardless religion, culture, financial level, ethnicity and status . It is about taking off whatever you are and going extra miles for one another. It is about compromising and the willingness to understand the beautiful differences we have that make each of us unique. It is about doing what best for our Malaysia. It's the heart of acceptance despite the differences knowing that we have one thing in common :

THE LOVE for MALAYSIANS and MALAYSIA.

Packing Process

POSTED ON: 17 April 2013 @ 12:54 AM | 0 comments

'When you travel to another destination, you don't bring EVERYTHING with you. You pack what is the most ESSENTIAL to bring with you to the other place. Not because you don't want, but because you can't. Too many load , it makes it hard for one to travel.'

I heard that from a wise woman about closing a chapter in your life before sailing to the next one. So, who do you want to bring , to journey along with you for the rest of your life? Why? Is it mutual in thought, action , understanding and love? What values that you want to keep that you've learnt and what do you want to throw?

Think about it. :) Let God be your guide. *smile*

God-centered or Self-centered?

POSTED ON: 30 March 2013 @ 5:40 PM | 0 comments

''God-centered or Self-centered?''

A question to ponder upon. In life, I think humility could be one of the hardest lessons one could ever learned. To boast of yourself of the things you had done, or to boast of God's things for He had done it through you.

It is okay to be delighted or even proud of something you did because of the gifts God had given you. But it is not right to declare it publicly so that you gain attention from others , or to gain acknowledgement from others that you did it very well. I meant, what is the intention of your heart?

To find the delights from the acknowledgement from men, or to find the delights that God had used you as vessel, that you should give thanks to Him.

Sometimes in the midst of receiving compliments, it is good to check on yourself.  Let practice ' All glory goes to God', shall we? Let's practice that,Fong Wan!

Jeremiah 9: 23-23: This is what the LORD says ' Let not the wise boast of their wisdom, or the strong boast of strength, or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD , exercise kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,' declares the Lord.

Dance and sing around me.

POSTED ON: 17 March 2013 @ 1:59 AM | 0 comments

''You dance over me,
While I am unaware.
You sing all around,
But I've never hear a sound.''

This song always always always remind me how FAITHFUL is my God. He is so mighty and so great but He dance and sing around me. Who am I that He choose to dance and sing around me? But ... He just does.

This song reminds me, how I can be so focus with my problems without realising that He is always around me , always so inviting, always so accepting, always so loving...

This song reminds me that God will never stop loving me even with the flaws and weaknesses that I have. That He is willing to just accept it the way it is, and love me the way I am. From there, He is willing to hold my hand and correct me, taking the flaws one by one and journey with me with who I really am.

''What you think you are doesn't stop God from loving you.'

''How wide,
How deep,
How great,
is Your Love for me...''

And yes, Lord...

I am amazed by...how You love me.

Roman 5: 7-8 ;  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this : While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Type of Friend

POSTED ON: 10 January 2013 @ 3:59 AM | 1 comments

In the middle of studying

I thought to myself

'What type of friend do you want to be?'

I know 'this-and-that' happened,

It is not that I wanna break our friendship,

Even though I am at risk of it

Risking away of our friendship

But if this what a real friend should do

I will do it.

I am not judging

I am not taking you away

I am not jealous

Simply, I just love u as a friend

Let's hope

One day when you look back

Through your life

You will know that

It was simply out of LOVE that I am doing this

As I always do.

The Schindler's List

POSTED ON: 18 August 2012 @ 9:27 PM | 1 comments

It’s often reflective to watch movie that exhibit how torturous and unfair life could be that you will know how blessed you are.

Schindler was a German who saved more than 1000 lives of the Jews during the holocaust with all the millions of bucks he had profited from his business. He stood against murder, cruelty despite the pressure and influence of the war (the killing of the Jews also known as holocaust). It must have been difficult to stand against those  powers knowing that sometimes things can get out of control. At one scene after the war ended, he cried saying that he could save more life if he sold his car and pin after his assistant reminded him, that in Hebrew ‘Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire’. He thought he didn’t do enough.  But, the Jews that he saved are called the  Schindler ’s Jew that numbered more than 6000 more than the population of the whole Jewish in Poland, less than 4000.  The show is named after  Schindler ’s list because the list of names he asked his secretary to type to save every Jews he could possibly think of. It’s a great show reminded me how ugly life could be, how precious is one life, how faith could be the only source of hope & strength in time of darkness, how blessed am I once again. To act out of kindness is not difficult, it’s whether you want to or not. One simple act could change one life.

 I will rephrase it then,

‘Whoever changes one life, changes the world entire’.

What do You wanna do?

POSTED ON: 21 July 2012 @ 5:57 PM | 3 comments

What do you wanna do with your life, Fong Wan?

These days my brain is full of this question. Maybe it's internship. To reaffirm what I want to do for the rest of my life.

I believe God gave me certain gifts that I can use to reap at certain places and certainly it is not here. Public relation. Office. Facing computer for a whole day. I don't know. Sometimes, I am in position to handle media. Events. Free admission.

I tried to look at things, positively. Tried my best. My Best. But emotions caught me sometimes. Sometimes, tears just overshadowed my vision when I was thinking about it. Franklysaying, this internship is not easy. It is not because of the work or task. But people.

I cannot help but to judge how they treat us sometimes-how they treat one another, how cliquish are they among one another.I do not know that if it that I was treated nicely by people all the time or peoples here are just like that. A friend said, ' You are not suitable for this job.' I denied but now, I think it is true. This place. This corporate-kind-of-job, really is not a place for me.

I see myself working happily, miggling with people, talking to them, comforting them. Impacting people with what I've learnt with God, people and them. Even if I was to face obstacles, I know that I am doing what I love.

Not sitting in front of computer for a day and not allowed to talk in the office. Pretending to be busy even I am not.

Seriously, I can't wait for this to be done. I am transferring to another team next month. I will be over with this team - Media. I don't know what would happened next. But I know what I wanna do for the rest of my life. Certainly, it's not this.

Yesterday, I expressed everything to God. For the first time, I was soOOO angry at God. Even though, I was so angry but my action will not change God Himself. He still continue to be loving, patient and kind towards me which amazed me.

I have learnt. Although people here are workaholic, cliquish, all-the-cooporate-kind-of-attitudes, but I cannot allow myself to be blinded by that by treating them the same. I have to be patient. Even if I cannot stand it anymore, I will run to God. He shall renew my strength to overcome all my difficulties. And I shall not become one of them. I:) I have learnt no matter what how much you dont understand why are you being put in a difficult situation that leave you suffocating, God understand. He is just there. Cry, be angry, just be unglued..coz HE IS THERE.

Galatian 6:9

Let us not be weary in doing food, for at proper time,we will REAP A HARVEST if we DO NOT GIVE UP.

POSTED ON: 12 June 2013 @ 3:56 PM | 0 comments
