Why you do what you do?

I realised that no matter what I do; I often ask myself,
Why are you doing this , Fong Wan?
And when I realised that when the answer is because of God,
I find myself, smiling for what I did.
That for me , is one simple joy in life.

Saving Us.

In Saving Private Ryan, eight men went to several parts of Normandy to find one man. His name is James Ryan. These eight men faced with various attacks from the enemies. They also faced some internal conflicts because they began losing trust for changing eight men's lives for one man.James Ryan did survived. However, only one of those eight men survived in order to make sure James Ryan survived the war. Captain Miller, a captain or the leader of the eight men said this to James before breathing his last breath,
'James, earn this...earn it. '
James wept with disbelief upon hearing that.
One day old James Ryan went back to the memorial that was contributed the soldiers that served in World War II. He went standing in front of the tomb of a man, Captain Miller.
James Ryan said,
My family is with me today. They wanted to come with me. To be honest with you, I...I wasn't sure how I'd feel coming back here. Every day I think about what you said to me that day on the bridge. I tried to live my life the best that I could. I hope that was enough. I hope that, at least in your eyes, I've earned what all of you have done for me.
This movie reminds me on how Jesus is like these eight men sacrificed their lives for a stranger named Ryan, whom they never see before.
I was thinking to myself after watching the movie that will I at my old age say this to myself 'At least in God's eyes, I've earned what He had done for me.'
Saving Private Ryan is a fictional story. A story about the sacrifice of eight men for a man's life. But the story of Jesus is about a sacrifice of a man for you and me. One perfect sacrifice to save us all from the wrath and the judgement of God. Many times, we may take this for granted.....our salvation.
But let us reminded again that we were never good enough for good God to die for us. We never can earn salvation. In exchange for what our Jesus had done for us on Calvary, I hope that in God's eyes, you and I try to live the best we can for Him for what He had done for us.
For in 1st Timothy 1: 13 to 16, Paul wrote
Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignore and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out to me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Jesus Christ. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners- of whom I am worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience for an example for those who believe on him and receive eternal life.
And he continued to remind Timothy,
18...so that by following them you may fight a good fight , holding on to faith and good conscience.

Travel.

I still remember setting my feet at the hills of Sa Pa, Vietnam .
Was just amazed with nature, people, culture and life.
Many people travel for different reasons.
Some are for shopping. Some are for the food. Some for entertainments.
I think I just wanna explore different cultures and different people.
Also, to enrich the way I thought of life by people and its cultures.
I always think that the world on the other side are always greener.
Maybe. Maybe not.
Because places like Sa Pa with such simple living-style could provide the best in life as long as one is content.
Maybe through some travelling here and there,
I would know that home would be the best place, after-all.

Guess where did I come back from???? I just came back from Universiti Malaya's Persaudaraan Kristian Varsiti camp!I know it was really weird that I joined a camp not being a student there but I believe God works in very unique way.
Clement asked, ' What makes you join our camp?'
I replied, ' I guess God has to pull me back to where I grow the most (university) to retell me that He is the author and perfecter of faith. That He will know how I feel and that I don't have to run away from Him.
**(Not exactly the exact things I said to Clem, there are rephrasing)
It is good to take a break from all of the things that hinder me from getting to a greater height with God. Now I am refreshed, it is time to minister and serve in where I am now with all my heart to the Lord,
Because I am reminded...
1st Corinthians 15: 8
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
